Victor Leguy é artista e pesquisador, graduado em Design Industrial/Artes Visuais (Mackenzie/São Paulo, 2003) e em Relações e Linguagens Históricas (USP/São Paulo, 2005/06). Através da prática de processos híbridos de produção, aborda questões relacionadas ao espaço público, à construção da história coletiva, à convivência e à cultura visual em contextos socioculturais e políticos específicos. Sua pesquisa também investiga conceitos como autenticidade e diferentes tipos de sistemas, seus dispositivos e a relaçãoda falha ou do erro nesses processos. Propõe ainda a ressignificação de fatos e arquivos já estabelecidos, com o objetivo de influenciar diretamente a História e resgatar ou reconstruir conjuntos específicos de informação.
Realizou exposições individuais na Galeria Emma Thomas (2016), na Temporada de Projetos (Paço das Artes, 2014) e no MARP-Museu de Artes de Ribeirão Preto (2014), e foi selecionado para realizar uma exposição na FUNARTE-SP através do Prêmio FUNARTE de Arte Contemporânea/Brasil (2015), além do Prêmio PROAC de Artes Visuais, 2020. Participou de diversas exposições coletivas no Brasil e no exterior, como a Bienal de Tenerife: TEA (Espanha, 2024), a 15ª edição... Exposições da Bienal de Istambul (2017), "A good neighbor on the move'' / Pinacoteca da Arte Moderna / Munique, Alemanha (2017), "F4 / uma ideia de Fotografia / Treviso / Itália (2017)", "8.Salon" (Galeria Niklas Schechinger, Hamburgo, Alemanha, 2014), "The world were here" (Galeria Upstairs, Oslo, Noruega, 2013), Frestas - Trienal de Arte (Sesc Sorocaba, SP, 2014), "Fotos Contam Fatos" (Galeria Vermelho, São Paulo, 2015), SideShow/Centro Cultural Heiska (Haukijärvi, Finlândia, 2013). Recentemente recebeu a 10ª Chamada de Propostas EAC / Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo (Montevidéu, Uruguai) e o 38º Prêmio de Aquisição SARP/MARP. (Ribeirão Preto-SP, 2013) e o Prêmio CQ-Creative Quarterly 26 (EUA, 2011-12). Participou da Residência Arteles (Haukijarvi, Finlândia, 2013) e da Residência Húmus em Pádua, Itália (2016). Victor Leguy is an artist and researcher, holding a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design/Visual Arts (Mackenzie/São Paulo, 2003) and a degree in Historical Relations and Languages (USP/São Paulo, 2005/06). Through the practice of hybrid production processes, he addresses issues related to public space, the construction of collective history, coexistence, and visual culture in specific sociocultural and political contexts. His research also investigates concepts such as authenticity and different types of systems, their devices, and the relationship of failure in these processes. He also proposes the re-signification of already established facts and archives, with the aim of directly influencing History and rescuing or reconstructing specific sets of information.
He has held solo exhibitions at the Emma Thomas Gallery (2016), the Projects Season (Paço das Artes, 2014), and at MARP-Museu de Artes Ribeirão Preto (2014), and was selected to hold an exhibition at FUNARTE-SP through the FUNARTE Contemporary Art Award/Brazil (2015), in addition to the PROAC Visual Arts award, 2020. He has participated in several group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, such as the Tenerife Biennial: TEA (Spain, 2024), the 15th edition...
